We are a local group of women from different nationalities who meet together to build friendship, have fun and find a sense of community together. If you have recently moved into the local area, or been here for some time already, this is a fantastic way to make new friends and get more connected in to your local community.
We meet once a month on a Thursday Morning from 10am-12pm
The format is informal and relaxed with free tea, coffee and cake on offer!
After many years hosting the very popular Christmas event ‘Tea with Tinsel’ for our lovely senior citizens, we are now delighted to offer regular Seniors events in our newly refurbished Refresh Centre The Centre now has disabled access and downstairs toilet facilities, also under floor heating!!!
We are holding Seniors Teas on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 2 - 4 pm - with excellent tea, coffee and cakes provided.
So if you like good company and a natter, maybe a quiz to keep the grey matter active, a game of bingo, or just watch a film - do come and join us. As friendships grow and we get to know one another better we can adapt the programme to reflect the interests and hobbies of the group.
Painting evenings and Inspired Art
At Refresh there are informal painting evenings, open to all, from complete beginners to professionals. We provide cavasses (7” x 5”) and acrylic paints – just bring your apron! Prior to community events in Molesey such as Magical Molesey, Refresh in the Park and the Carnival, a group of amateur artists get together at Refresh. We ask God to inspire us what to paint and give it a go! Sometimes we get an image in our mind’s eye or a shape or colour and the painting develops as we go along. We tend to use acrylic paints and it is always staggering to see such a variety of styles. We make prints from our originals which we mount and display at these events. The art has attracted a lot of interest. People tend to get drawn to a particular print and we ask God to show us what that picture means for each person. Sometimes we just get a few words, sometimes a lot more! It is always a message of encouragement and we find that people are amazed how relevant and timely these words are.
